Description
Vidarasen is a small village in Norway where about half the people have learning disabilities. Jon Jerstad, who made the film, saw it as a place of freedom, where there was less prejudice and more real feeling. Different people share a very rich life, a life which makes one doubt that it is efficiency, intellectual talent, or a high standard of living that gives real happiness or meaning. Many sound ecological ideas are practised in the village, and everyone has to participate to create a varied cultural life. English commentary.
