Description
A study in bereavement, presented by the actress Sheila Hancock. Her own experience of the death of close members of her family enable her to get those who are still very close to the experience to reveal the depth and intensity of their private grief. Consultant doctor Colin Murray Parkes stresses the necessity of allowing bereavement to take its natural course – to stifle it can have serious consequences. Death tends to be a taboo subject, but we have to acknowledge grief and allow those who have experienced bereavement not merely to forget it – “I don’t want to get over it! I want it to become part of my life.”
Re-issue of this classic film. Although made some time ago, it is as relevant today as ever.
