Description
This film presents a grim warning about the threat to man’s survival if the plundering of the earth’s dwindling natural resources continues. The prospects are frightening: — 15 million acres a year are being destroyed. It is estimated that throughout the world five hundred million subsistence farmers are cutting and burning forest in order to grow food. It is clear that there is an urgent need to re-examine the future availability of the world’s resources to meet the inevitable population increase. The world currently produces enough food for everyone but six hundred million people receive less than they need to survive. This is because eighty per cent of all resources produced are consumed by twenty-five per cent of the world’s population.
Although made some years ago the issues raised are still current.
