Description
A film about the experience of ‘making it’. But leaving a working class family to move into the middle class is not simply a question of financial improvement – it brings emotional changes too. Four people who have experienced those changes – a lecturer, a film producer, a priest and a researcher – tell their stories in their own words. Although the film has no commentary, the implicit question it poses is ‘what is the emotional cost of success?’
Made in 1987 this film reflects the cultural attitudes of the country and language of the time it was made. The issues raised are timeless. The film quality may not be to modern standards.
