Description
A film about pensioner safety which shows a workshop in physical techniques to heighten the brain’s awareness and the body’s performance in times of stress, such as an attack. Also shown are two role-plays which depict the way in which two elderly ladies are attacked: a caller at the door pretending to be an official to gain entry and rob the resident, and a potential mugging after money has been collected from the Post Office. Encourages a positive approach and empowerment, rather than emphasising the dangers, and suggests pensioners may form groups to improve their fitness and awareness of personal safety.
Made in 1992 this film reflects the cultural attitudes of the country and language of the time it was made. The issues raised are timeless. The film quality may not be to modern standards.
