Description

Considers rape in our culture and examines popular films and advertising, and records the insights of rape crisis workers and prisoners working against rape. It establishes the connections between violence and ‘normal’ patterns of male/female behaviour. There is an interesting sequence showing a prison self-help group which includes a convicted rapist, and also an interview with a convicted multiple rapist, now released. U.S.A.
This film is of historical interest and reflects the cultural attitudes of the country in which it was made and language of the time it was made. But the issues raised are timeless.
