In the first part, the four young addicts explain how and why they became involved in serious drug misuse. ‘Janine’ takes a closer look at the experience of one of the four, a middle-class girl from a prosperous Portsmouth suburb. Narrated by Janine herself the film charts the damage that heroin can inflict on an entire family. ‘Alpha House – Beginning Again’ follows the four young junkies into rehabilitation – not an easy path. Fundamental changes in personality and attitude are needed to ensure a real release from drug abuse.
