Description
Classic film about an old man living on his own in a huge block of flats in London. His wife had died nine years before. The film moves at his pace, and is an attempt to communicate what it feels like to be old and alone. The world of the elderly can be an empty world, where the past is everything and the future nothing. Does it have to be like this?
Made in 1965 this film reflects the cultural attitudes and language of the time it was made. But the issues raised are timeless.
