Description
Britain is wasting energy worth 7 billion per year. This programme looks at ways in which various forms of waste can be put to use by conversion into energy. A new boiler uses gas taken from a household waste landfill site, waste in Birmingham is compressed into fuel pellets, and power stations could provide district heating as in Castle Bromwich and Nottingham. Also rubbish can be converted into oil.
Made in 1986 this film reflects the cultural attitudes of the country and language of the time it was made. The issues raised are timeless. The film quality may not be to modern standards.
