Description

Harold Bate has adapted his car to use methane gas, which he makes from farmyard manure on his farm in Devon. He explains how clean and cheap it is, and how it doesn’t use up any fossil fuel. He shows exactly how he has fitted it to his car, and the various processes involved. He is embarrassed by the number of enquiries he has received from all over the world — he would rather be perfecting his automatic bicycle, which is powered by the jolting of the saddle, but which still has a few snags, such as how to stop it!

‘This film is of historical interest but the issues raised are still current.
