Description

Overcrowding in Britain’s prisons. We see a typical day at Strangeways prison in Manchester, where lack of both space and staff make it impossible to ‘treat and train’ offenders. Here men are supposed to be selected for training in other prisons, but these are all too full to accept any more prisoners. This “World in Action” film asks whose responsibility this problem is.
This film is of historical interest and reflects the cultural attitudes, medical procedures and language of the time it was made

The imagery and film quality may not be to modern standards, the subject will always be timeless.
