Five 30 minute programmes consisting of intimate portrait of young Africans who express themselves through some form of creative activity. Each film blends artistic expression and social context to show a vibrant and positive picture of Africa.

Doug E. Tee & Didier Awadi shows two young rappers from Senegal with their group Positive Black Soul.

Ruth Motau & Themba Hadeve are photographers with a weekly newspaper in Johnnesburg. The want to confront the image of violence in the townships with an alternative view of dignity, aspiration and achievement.

Melanie Jones is a drama student at the New Africa Theatre Project in Cape Town, working mainly with Xhosa people newly settled in the town.

Richard Kabiito is a young painter in Uganda who draws his inspiration from the countryside and village traditions.

Alois Magwenya is a dancer with the Tumbuka Company in Zimbabwe, a group which has maintained it attachment to rural traditions.
